So long

We were defeated.  So I took Kaci's queue and parted ways with SIOL.  We love the idea; we just didn't choose our selected six pieces with quite enough consideration or inspiration.  Plus, I just wasn't into a pencil skirt on a Saturday, and I questioned if a weekend wardrobe of workout clothing would be cheating or not. Plan B: shop for the six and give it another go...

I was bored (and procrastinating on a very important project) so I did what most consider the ultimate boredom beater: I ate.  But, it doesn't really count if it's a banana, right?  I was actually doing myself a favor.  Dang.  A peanut butter filled something or cinnamon pita chips would've been a way better cure. Perhaps a walk to Whole Foods will give me something to do and I can load up on more satisfying treats.  Like a jar of Justin's almond butter for the banana.  Or a pumpkin muffin and latte.  Or a most delicious curry wrap.  Peanut butter Larabars, yogurt pretzels, granola, almonds, cheese crisps; the options are endless really...

And the Hot Man at El Diablo reminded us that they do still exist...

A bit of a crush

I question my commitment to this fashion experiment.  Today Kaci proclaimed life is too short for just six pieces.  But day four looked something like this; mildly successful:

black skirt
5-denim shirt
belt
tights
black booties

Tomorrow, I'm wearing the pants(and item 6).  And the weekend will be spent strategically planning 25 more different looks with the six:

black skirt
gray tee
black blazer
black shirt dress
denim long sleeve
black jeans

Okay, this may need some serious accessory intervention.

Ummmm, yum!

And he still makes my heart skip a beat with the mention of his (evite)(screen)name...

Day III

Item #4: black shirt dress from Victoria's Secret, purchased two summers ago when I was way thinner (but still didn't look half as good as the size 00 model who made me think I might).  Kaci questioned my selection, and I don't blame her; making this piece versatile enough to disguise as a new outfit for several more looks might be a bit challenging.  Or I'll apply this mantra: tights, boots, tuck.  Repeat.

Dear gym dude,
Please don't ask me out.
Sincerely,
The girl who is actually working out (and not paying attention to you perform squats that you for some reason had to do right next to me.)
PS: But you, dude with neon yellow sneakers; please do.

SIOL

It's an experiment in fashion to test a true fashionista's gumption: is it possible to wear the same six items of clothing for exactly one month?  Kw and I are about to find out.  No matter the occasion, only the six. So accessories are a must, and workout wear, work uniforms, shoes, and outerwear (aka, jackets) don't count.
I was supposed to begin Monday, but I spent the entire day working at home in a sports bra and leggings my work uniform.  Today I made a more public appearance in the start of the six (cheating? I hope not).  In the mix:

black skirt-1
gray tee-2
black blazer-3
And to accessorize:
studded black belt, Express circa 2003 (a last minute find to pull it all together)
silver hoops
black patterned tights
gray heels (bad choice)

My fashion spirit was lifted this morning as I left The Yalun.  I felt put together; each piece thoughtfully matched to another.  Hallelujah!  It was an outfit.

Perhaps a quick look to the London Sixers for a bit of inspiration for tomorrows additions.  And more inspiration from the Nordstrom shoe department for a Nude accessory...
