Out and about in Denver + some

I don't recommend totally parting ways with your neighborhood wine shop, but might I suggest a stop into Sips for a bottle or two?  The owner and sommelier, Chan Park knows his stuff and will (with great fervor) discuss any bottle from his hand-picked collection of over 3,000.  Not to mention free wine tastings every Thursday and Saturday nights from 4-7P; call it an impromptu happy hour in a very chic wine cellar.

My girl Leah Nickie is the best in the skin care business.  Appointments are booked months in advance; she is that good.  Be sure to follow your treatment with her killer eyebrow makeover.

By now you know I have a thing for City, O' City.  And perhaps you think I should venture to a new counter + latte.  Oh, but I do- to their sister restaurant, Watercourse.  But it's the European cafe, the huge countertop, and equally pleasing hipster crowd that turns me on.  Sometimes I wonder if I could attract one of these dudes, with longish hair and boyish charm, dressed in flannel and sturdy boots.  But that is no reason to spend hours there over red wine and hummus plates; I just happen to adore it.  Plus, there's only one dude (and he already comes dressed in flannel and boots) I'd again like to cozy up to the counter with.

And so cool in NYC!

A darling little necklace.

What fun it will be to say I Do!

So long

We were defeated.  So I took Kaci's queue and parted ways with SIOL.  We love the idea; we just didn't choose our selected six pieces with quite enough consideration or inspiration.  Plus, I just wasn't into a pencil skirt on a Saturday, and I questioned if a weekend wardrobe of workout clothing would be cheating or not. Plan B: shop for the six and give it another go...

I was bored (and procrastinating on a very important project) so I did what most consider the ultimate boredom beater: I ate.  But, it doesn't really count if it's a banana, right?  I was actually doing myself a favor.  Dang.  A peanut butter filled something or cinnamon pita chips would've been a way better cure. Perhaps a walk to Whole Foods will give me something to do and I can load up on more satisfying treats.  Like a jar of Justin's almond butter for the banana.  Or a pumpkin muffin and latte.  Or a most delicious curry wrap.  Peanut butter Larabars, yogurt pretzels, granola, almonds, cheese crisps; the options are endless really...

And the Hot Man at El Diablo reminded us that they do still exist...

Pencil me on

I had just returned from my brow makeover appointment (yes, indeed) with the fabulous Leah Nickie when my lovely mother sent an email about a tooth issue she was having, one that only happens with age, apparently.  I was immediately reminded of my grandma's penciled-in brows, and I felt rather silly that this young chick would already require such beauty routine.  Clearly eyebrows don't follow the old-lady timeline.

I bought two shirts at Forever 21 and both are almost exact replicas of more expensive versions purchased from Anthropologie and Nordstrom (I might need to expand my wardrobe horizons).  But, of course, the copied versions are, errrr, a bit more disposable than the more expensive styles.  The 32 dollar price tag on the little gray number still makes me a bit weary.  Good thing those gray heels were only 20 bucks, albeit a tad too tight, but I still walk semi-gracefully (I think).

Tasty apps for the Christmas Season... or any other of the 364 days in the year.  Just add a bottle of red wine and a date if you have one.

And, it looks like a bit of R&R is in my future...
